Louisiana Wetlands

Wetlands Education Partnership

The New Orleans Pelicans and Audubon Nature Institute have a game plan to educate locals and visitors of all ages about coastal wetlands loss and how each of us can help. Together, we'll reach millions of people each year. That's good news for all of us who love Louisiana's coast! Read more about teaming up with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Learn about the Wetlands

Louisiana wetlands are disappearing at an alarming rate—every 38 minutes, we lose the equivalent of a football field. In Louisiana, marshes and swamps make up most of our wetlands. The Louisiana wetlands are not only beautiful but functional as they reduce storm damage and coastal erosion, and also provide one of the most productive ecosystems on earth.
