Quick Tips

The Insectarium is handicapped accessible.
Strollers are allowed in the Insectarium. Strollers are not available for rent but are available for purchase in the gift shop!
A limited number of sanitized wheelchairs are available for complimentary use.
Photography (including flash) is permitted in the Insectarium.
Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the Insectarium.
Audubon Insectarium is a "smoke-free" facility. For the safety and health of all patrons, our staff and the animals in our stewardship, smoking is only permitted outside of the Insectarium.

Information Booth
The Information Booth is located in the Insectarium lobby and offers:
- A limited number of sanitized wheelchairs available for use free of charge with the deposit of a photo ID. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Courtesy Room access.
- Lost and found.
- Hand-stamp for reentry and parking validation.

Pathways
The pathway is handicap accessible, and Insectarium exhibits are easily accessible by wheelchair or stroller.

Elevators
There are elevators available to assist visitors. Insectarium map coming soon.

Guest Courtesy Room
The Guest Courtesy Room offers a private area for one guest/family at a time. The room is also available for nursing mothers. Guests can request access at the Information Booth.

Service Animals
Guests with disabilities are permitted to bring service animals to all areas of the Insectarium where guests are normally allowed. Animals exhibiting signs of ill health or aggressive or erratic behavior will not be allowed. In the event that a guest’s service animal is denied admittance, other assistance will be provided upon request. Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support (ESA), therapy animals or animals that provide a service to others not present (dogs in-training) do not qualify as “service animals” under the ADA and are not allowed in Audubon facilities. Pets are also not admitted in Audubon facilities. Pets, ESA and other service animals are allowed in Audubon's public parks.

How do I purchase tickets?

We recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance here. If you have difficulty completing your online transaction, please email us at AIR@AudubonInstitute.org or call us at 1-800-774-7394. Due to limited staffing, you may experience longer than usual wait times, but we greatly appreciate your patience.

Can I purchase tickets at the Insectarium?

Guests are recommended to make reservations online. Tickets can be purchased online here. If you have difficulty completing your online transaction, please email us at AIR@AudubonInstitute.org or call us at 1-800-774-7394.

Am I required to wear a mask?

Face masks are no longer required at Audubon facilities including the Zoo and Aquarium.

Am I required to show proof of vaccination?

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and face masks are NO LONGER REQUIRED at Audubon facilities including the Zoo and Aquarium.

Is there food available for purchase?

Yes.

Are water fountains open?

Yes, the water fountains are open. We encourage you to bring a water bottle with you to fill up during your visit. We also have water for sale inside the Zoo.

Do Members need a reservation or timed ticket to visit?

Members are not required to make reservations online.
