Visiting Tips

The Aquarium is handicap accessible.
Strollers are allowed in the Aquarium. Strollers are not available for rent and we are currently sold out in our gift shop.
A limited number of wheelchairs are available to rent.
Photography (including flash) is permitted in the Aquarium.
Outside food and drinks are not allowed into the Aquarium.
Audubon Aquarium is a "smoke-free" facility. For the safety and health of all patrons, our staff and the animals in our stewardship, smoking is only permitted outside of the Aquarium.

Information Booth
The Information Booth is located in the Aquarium lobby and offers:

A limited number of sanitized wheelchairs available for use free of charge with a deposit of a photo ID. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pathways
To facilitate physical distancing, all guests will follow a one-way path through the Aquarium's exhibits. The pathway is handicap accessible, and Aquarium exhibits are easily accessible by wheelchair or stroller.

Guest Courtesy Room
The Guest Courtesy Room offers a private area for one guest/family at a time. The room is also available for nursing mothers. Guests can request access at the Information Booth.

Restrooms
Accessible restrooms with changing tables are located in the Aquarium lobby near the Information Booth on the first floor and near the Shark Discovery area on the second floor.

Service Animals
Guests with disabilities are permitted to bring service animals to all areas of the Aquarium where guests are normally allowed. Animals exhibiting signs of ill health, aggressive or erratic behavior will not be allowed. In the event that a guest's service animal is denied admittance, other assistance will be provided upon request. Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support (ESA), therapy animals or animals that provide a service to others not present (dogs in-training) do not qualify as "service animals" under the ADA and are not allowed in Audubon facilities. Pets are also no admitted in Audubon facilities. Pets, ESA, and other service animals are allowed in Audubon's public parks.

How do I purchase tickets?

We recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance here. If you have difficulty completing your online transaction, please email us at AIR@AudubonInstitute.org or call us at 1-800-774-7394. Due to limited staffing, you may experience longer than usual wait times, but we greatly appreciate your patience.

Can I purchase tickets at the Aquarium?

Guests are recommended to make reservations online but you can buy tickets at the ticketing window. Tickets can be purchased online here. If you have difficulty completing your online transaction, please email us at AIR@AudubonInstitute.org or call us at 1-800-774-7394.

Am I required to wear a mask?

Face masks are no longer required at Audubon facilities including the Zoo and Aquarium.

Am I required to show proof of vaccination?

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and face masks are NOT REQUIRED at Audubon facilities including the Zoo, Aquarium, and Insectarium.

Is there food available for purchase?

Yes, Aqua Grille Cafe is open and serving guests, indoor and outdoor seating is available. Visit Cypress Knee Café located in our Louisiana Swamp exhibit with a modified menu and indoor and outdoor seating on weekends. Click here for more information.

Are water fountains open?

Yes, the water fountains are open. We encourage you to bring a water bottle with you to fill up during your visit. We also have water for sale inside the Aquarium.

Do Members need a reservation or timed ticket to visit?

Members are not required to make reservations online.
