Peter Wenstrup
Member, Audubon Commission
Peter Wenstrup is a teacher for Livingston Collegiate Academy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Brown University. Peter taught at Lusher Charter School for seven years and Walter L. Cohen High School for three before joining Livingston Collegiate Academy.
Peter, his wife Kristen Ward, and their two daughters are residents of Central City. He has been deeply involved with both his schools and his neighborhood through coaching sports, tutoring, and developing outdoor recreational opportunities for local children.
He was inspired to serve on the Audubon Commission by the capacity of nature and facilities like Audubon’s museums and parks to inspire a love of science and STEM fields in young people. His favorite Audubon memory is the first time he took his oldest daughter to Audubon Zoo and how engrossed she was by the giraffes.
Peter is passionate about improving our air and water quality and helping our city transition to clean energy sources to protect the environment that nourishes our children and the planet we leave them.
