About the full Party for the Planet series:

Party for the Planet presented by Entergy is a series of events and activities celebrating the wonders of nature held across New Orleans. The festivities kick off March 28, 2020, at Audubon Louisiana Nature Center and provide imaginative new ways for guests to experience nature through hands-on discovery and interactive experiences.

Party for the Planet includes a kick-off party at the Nature Center; events celebrating Endangered Species Day, World Oceans Day, and Pollinator Week; and two community volunteer events that support Audubon’s conservation education initiatives. Party for the Planet participants can earn fun badges at each event to celebrate their commitment to Planet Earth – make sure to collect all six!

Party for the Planet presented by Entergy: Spring into Action

Join us at Party for the Planet presented by Entergy: Spring into Action, the kick-off to Audubon’s series of family-friendly educational events March 28 to June 20. On March 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Audubon Louisiana Nature Center, guests can enjoy hands-on discovery with local exhibitors and fun opportunities to experience nature including a complimentary night sky demonstration in the Planetarium. Guests can pick up their seed paper card and Earth Quest when they arrive from the Entergy table. Collect a seed paper card at every event! Gather Earth Quest stamps by meeting local exhibitors and completing hands-on discovery and interactive experiences. Show a completed Earth Quest game at the Entergy tent to pick from a variety of eco-friendly prizes! Admission to this event is free to the public.

Party for the Planet presented by Entergy: Earth Day Family Service Day

Audubon Louisiana Nature Center

Earth Day Family Service Day is a fun way to make a positive impact on the environment by participating in outdoor service activities, such as invasive plant species removal, with Audubon educators and conservation partners. Participants can earn an Earth Day Family Service Day planet seed paper card! Admission to this event is free to the public, but advance registration is encouraged. Party for the Planet presented by Entergy: Endangered Species Day

Audubon Zoo

Endangered Species Day at Audubon Zoo offers guests the opportunity to learn about the importance of protecting endangered species while enjoying animal care chats and interactive activities from Audubon animal care staff, educators, and conservation partners. Guests can pick up their seed paper card and Animal Quest when they arrive from the Entergy table. Collect a seed paper card at every event! Take a conservation journey by visiting outposts in the Zoo where Audubon staff will educate guests on the endangered species that call Audubon home. Collect a stamp at each outpost and return to the Entergy table to pick up an eco-friendly prize! This event is included in Zoo admission and complimentary for Audubon Members.

Party for the Planet presented by Entergy: World Oceans Day

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas

World Oceans Day is a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for a better future. It offers guests the opportunity to learn how humans impact our ocean and marine life while enjoying animal care chats and interactive activities from Audubon husbandry staff, educators, and conservation partners. Guests can pick up their seed paper card and Ocean Quest when they arrive from the Entergy table. Collect a seed paper card at every event! Ride a conservation wave through the Aquarium to collect stamps by meeting local exhibitors and completing hands-on discovery and interactive experiences. Show a completed Ocean Quest game at the Entergy table to pick from a variety of eco-friendly prizes! This event is included in Aquarium admission and complimentary for Audubon Members.

Party for the Planet presented by Entergy: Pollination Celebration

Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium

National Pollinator Week is an international celebration of the valuable ecological roles played by bees, birds, butterflies, bats, beetles, and other pollinators. Pollination Celebration on Saturday, June 20, offers guests the opportunity to learn about the crucial relationship between animal, plant, and human life while enjoying educational chats and interactive activities with Audubon entomology staff, educators, and conservation partners. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite pollinator! Guests can pick up their seed paper card and Flower Quest when they arrive from the Entergy table. Collect a seed paper card at every event! Flit around the Insectarium to find fun factoids about your favorite pollinators. Show a completed Flower Quest game at the Metamorphous Lab for eco-friendly prizes! This event is included in Butterfly Garden and Insectarium admission and complimentary for Audubon Members.
