Audubon Louisiana Nature Center is a cherished community resource. Located adjacent to Joe Brown Park in New Orleans East on 86 acres of hardwood bottomland forest, its creation was a project of the Junior League of Greater New Orleans, opening March 23, 1980.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina flooded the Nature Center grounds, essentially destroying the facility but Audubon moved forward with the rebuilding process. Now the next chapter begins for the Nature Center, and we are excited to announce that it has reopened with modern buildings, beautiful nature trails and new programs celebrating the wonders of nature.
Trails and facilities are monitored by rangers. Intermittent closures are possible. No admission or tickets required for Nature Trails and Interpretive Center. Group reservations required for education programs and planetarium shows.

Groups
Looking to bring a group to the Nature Center?
A Group Access Permit is required for all Group activities, such as field trips and volunteering to Audubon Louisiana Nature Center for all groups of 15 or more, and/or when requested from Audubon staff. The Permit is granted for the day of the field trip or activity. There is no fee for the one (1) day Group Access Permit. Read more information and rules here. Please fill out our form below.
