Saturday, April 21, Audubon Louisiana Nature Center will host its very first Women in Nature retreat.
This day-long event, hopes to bring together women of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy speakers on a variety of wellness topics, and then get outside on the Nature Center’s trails for guided walking experiences. In addition to keynote speakers and nature walks, the day currently includes a meditation instructor, as well as a catered healthy lunch.
If you are looking to reconnect with the earth, yourself, and others, this day-long event is for you.
Schedule of Events:
9:00am - Breakfast and Intro to Women in Nature
9:30am - Morning hike
10:00am - Meditation session
11:00am - Benefits of gardening
11:30am - Keynote address - Dr. Aimee Thomas
12:00pm - Healthy lunch and nutrition presentation
1:00pm - Yoga
2:00pm - Insect Jewelry Making
3:00pm - Afternoon hike
3:30pm - Wrap up

What to bring:
Please plan to dress for both indoor an outdoor experiences during Women in Nature. We recommend the following: comfortable layered clothing, sturdy shoes for walking/hiking, refillable water bottle, hat, sunglasses, and a yoga mat or towel if participating in yoga. Note: The best part about Women in Nature is being outside in all weather! Feedback from previous participants has been outstanding regarding the outdoor experience of the hikes in rain. Please bring a rain jacket and rain boots, if appropriate. We will have a limited number of ponchos to borrow.
