The roar returns, May 18, 2019, and you're invited to the "mane" event.

Welcome the Lions to Their New Home
Saturday, May 18
9:00 AM - Members
10:00 AM - General Public
Audubon Zoo

The new lion habitat opens on May 18 with a pride of lions and a must-see experience in the African Savanna exhibit. This spacious habitat looks like an African Savanna with grasses, trees, and plenty of room for animals to roam. Learn how lions live in the wild and discover their influence on the culture of people living near them.

Members will have early access to the Zoo on May 18 to welcome the lions to their new home. After a welcome presentation, Ashé Cultural Arts Center will lead a second “lion” to the panoramic views of the expansive new lion habitat.

  • Early access for Members from 9:00 to 10:00 AM
  • Come give your best roar for our Roar Reel video (9:00 — 10:00 AM).
