DROP OFF YOUR DISCARDED STRANDS OF HOLIDAY LIGHTS AT THE ZOO!
Most holiday lights are not bio-degradable and are dangerous to animals if they get tangled in the strands. You can take action and make a positive impact on the natural world by recycling your lights and keeping them from going to a landfill.
November 29 - January 13
Audubon Zoo Front Entrance
Please do not add bags or boxes in the recycle box—only string lights!
Audubon Zoo will collect holiday string lights for recycling this holiday season. All proceeds from Audubon’s Lights for Lions recycling program will support the Wildlife Conservation Network’s Lion Recovery Fund. Lion populations have declined by half in just a quarter century. Their loss signals the loss of the wild in Africa.
Please note that due to unforeseen events, Audubon Nature Institute has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Zoo Lights presented by Children's Hospital New Orleans.
