Jellies

jellyfishDiscover the mystery and wonder of jellyfish.

Behold the amazing jellies! Visit our Jelly Gallery and be mystified and delighted by a whole host of jellyfish (which, by the way, are dome-shaped marine invertebrates, not true fish). In the wild, jellyfish spend most of their time in open water, and their soft bodies are easily injured by bumping into corners and solid objects. That is why the Jelly Gallery is filled with specially designed exhibits called Kriesels. Named after the German word for carousel, a Kriesel is a cornerless tank with circular water flow. It is designed to keep jellies in the center of their tanks and away from the walls.
