Audubon Zoo visitors are greeted with a parade of pink feathers.
The first exhibit at Audubon Zoo features a flock of flamingos in a parade of pink feathers. In the spring and summer you can watch this flock build nests, lay eggs and raise their young. In the cooler months they add a splash of color and lots of activity to the Zoo entrance plaza.
The Zoo actually has two flocks of flamingos: one in the plaza to welcome visitors and the other in a more natural setting (near the Audubon Aviary) on a lagoon with native pelicans.
