Offer your students an enhanced learning experience at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.
Our Education Programming is currently on hiatus so that our staff can prepare and develop world-class learning experiences for the 2018-2019 school year. On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, we will begin to process School Program reservation requests for our suite of environmental learning opportunities at Audubon Zoo, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, and Audubon Louisiana Nature Center. We look forward to celebrating the wonders of nature with you and your students this year!
Aqua School Field Trips provide an opportunity to give your students an enhanced and engaging learning experience while on a field trip to the Aquarium. All programs are aligned with state science standards, and many can be modified for any age group. Programs allow for a maximum of 60 students (30 per session) and includes Expedited Check-in and time to explore the Aquarium. Our Education staff can also tailor programs to fit curriculum needs.
All programs are also available for home-school groups of 10 or more students.

Frog School (ALL Ages) - Ever wonder “what is the difference between a frog and a toad?” or “what exactly do tadpoles do all day?” This is the class for you and your students. Bring your students to the Aquarium to meet some amazing amphibians up close and find out all about their wild and watery world. Each session includes food webs, animal adaptations, habitats and features a live animal encounter. (45 minutes per session)

This program is easily tailored to accompany classroom curriculum. Topic ideas include habitats, adaptations, specific animals or conservation issues.
The Sea & Me (PreK & Kindergarten) - A fun program for our younger visitors, The Sea & Me engages the little ones through activities and curriculum from Growing Up WILD: Exploring Nature with Young Children. Early childhood groups will enjoy learning about ocean life including a live animal encounter.
Age: Most school programs can be adapted for any age group.

Don’t have time for a school program? Add a Self-Guided Exploration to your field trip. A Self-Guided Exploration is an age-appropriate activity guide that your students complete during their visit. It includes Expedited Check-in to help your group maximize their field trip time. An Educator will meet your group at the front entrance and assist with check-in and then escort the group into the facility, highlight special activities, and answer any questions. Each student receives an activity guide and pencil as part of the $1.00 per student charge. We can accommodate up to 200 students.
