More than 30 species of beautiful birds abound at Audubon Aviary.
Currently closed and undergoing a remodel.
This free-flight aviary features more than 30 species of birds from around the world. In an enchanting mix of colors and personalities some feathered favorites include the Scarlet ibis from South America and the Nicobar pigeon from Southeast Asia. Be sure to look for the hanging nests of the Taveta Golden Weaver—this bright little bird is always busy weaving nests for his potential mates.
The aviary houses many endangered birds including the rare Blue-crowned Laughingthrush. Native to a small area in northeastern China, these critically endangered birds have settled in, successfully hatched their chicks and raised their family in the Aviary!
