8:30am - 10:00am

In support of Autism Awareness Month, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas will host the annual Audubon Goes Blue event on Sunday, April 7. Audubon Aquarium of the Americas was the first Aquarium in the country to be certified Sensory Inclusive by KultureCity, a leading non-profit recognized nationwide for using their resources to effect change in the community for those with sensory needs, including those with Autism.

At this event, the Aquarium offers complimentary admission to guests who benefit from sensory accommodations, such as calmer environments and hands-on sensory-friendly activities, and their families. The event takes place before the Aquarium is open to the public.

There will be gifts for our guests, one-on-one opportunities with our education and husbandry staff, divers in the Great Maya Reef tunnel, and sensory stations. The Autism Society will be onsite to share information and resources. And, the Aquarium will be lit blue for the day to promote autism awareness.
