Meet the Asian Forest Scorpion
Animal’s Behavior
Scorpions and spiders are both arachnids, but one notable difference is that the pedipalps of scorpions are modified to function as claws for grasping prey. Scorpions are nocturnal. During the day they hide under logs and stones or in burrows they dig themselves. Scorpions can subdue prey or ward off attackers with a venom-filled stinger at the back end of their bodies. They are well known for this; while most scorpions are not dangerous to humans, some have venom that can be lethal to us.
Eating Habits
These scorpions tend to only use their claws to subdue their prey, more so then the venom in their stinger. Our Asian Forest Scorpions enjoy a nice cricket or two, they can crush one with a single claw easily.
