Leopoldi stingrays (Potamotrygon leopoldi) are bottom dwellers however they will surface for food and are one of the more active of the freshwater Rays.

Eating Habits
Shrimp, worms, silversides and crustaceans.

Range
South America inland waters: Northern Brazil.

It is seldom taken for food but juveniles enter the ornamental fish trade due to the attractive color pattern and the species faces persecution in some areas due to fear of sting injuries.
