Earth Fest

Earth Fest is a fun way for Zoo visitors to learn about saving the environment. Exhibitors representing groups from the non-profit and governmental sectors as well as businesses involved with environmental issues will help Zoo visitors answer questions for prizes on the Earth Quest game. Great food and crafts available for purchase!

Confront and Conquer* will be collecting insect repellent to send to the most impoverished areas of Brazil. Shipment slated for Summer 2016. Collection site located outside the front gate of the zoo.

*Confront and Conquer was birthed through Mark and Eileen Johnson; parents who were chosen to parent two beautiful children, each with their own unique developmental need. Concerned about what would happen to families who didn’t have the same options; the Johnson’s pulled money from their personal savings account, moved furniture around in their tiny family room, opened up their Marrero home and in March 2006 launched Confront & Conquer, Incorporated. Mission: To create programs that satisfy the educational, therapeutic, social and spiritual needs of minority underserved families who care for children and young adults with Special Needs.
